Minecraft

Ken got Minecraft for me, but I haven’t tried playing it yet. Some of the reason for that is because I’m in one of my “moods”. No need to back slowly away from me, it’s not that kind of mood, I just haven’t been in the mood to play games lately. This happens to me occasionally.

Ken seems to have a lot of fun with it, so it might be time to stop watching him play and try it out for myself. He recently started recording himself walking around Minecraft, Cracked’s Life in Minecraft. I just hope on his next video he runs into some creepers because he usually screams like a girl a jumps out of his seat, it’s pretty amusing. I just need to film him doing that and upload it to my YouTube.

I’m so damn happy for my boys! It was well deserved and the better team won! I’m so amped up I can’t sleep, and don’t even know what to say. I could ramble on about how excited I am, but it would just be a lot of, “OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! THEYWONTHEYWONTHEYWON!!!”. Been here all night geeking out over this. And I have decided to erect a shrine to Timmy Thomas, a huge one in my front yard. The HOA, and my annoying neighbors, will love it.

Living in Indy I can’t help but wonder what my neighbors were thinking when they, no doubt, heard my loud screams of excitement every time the B’s scored. This isn’t exactly a hockey town, and I would be surprised if anyone here even knew there was a game on.

I have this odd sense of satisfaction knowing the Bruins won it in an away game, and they shut out the Canucks while doing it. Teach those cocky, dirty playing, dive taking bastards a lesson.

We believed and it came true. Congrats to our boys.

James Bond is a Time Lord

How did I not realized that sooner?

He evidently has the ability to regenerate, how else would you explain the fact that he looks different throughout the years?

Then there’s the fact that James Bond between the years 1987-1989 and  Lord President Rassilon are the same person. Yeah. I’m on to you, Mr. Bond.

Damn you, Craig Ferguson!

Every now and then I get a song stuck in my head, you know what I’m talking about, we’ve all been there. Fairly recently I had the “Charles in Charge” theme stuck in my head for about 3 days, and I’m glad to be rid of it. This time I have this going ’round in my head…

But I’m not really complaining. Cause it’s kinda awesome.

This stuff should last awhile, well the stuff I bought for myself, Amanda has probably already eaten all her stuff.

Update on some of the things I tried:

Saku Saku Panda cookies – A cookie with strawberry & white chocolate, we loved them.

Taiyaki – I was worried about these because they are frozen, I would love to try them freshly made, but for a frozen product they were very good and I would buy them again.

Pretz Super Butter – I have tried these before, we love them. Mmm sooo buttery.

Fruit Daifuku – Me and my daughter loved these! They had mango, peach and pineapple flavors.

Asian Grocery Stores

There are a lot of really good Asian/International grocery stores in Indianapolis, I just wish they were a lot closer to the area I live in. We do have one, Saraga, that is near us and I go there a couple times a month but it’s a smaller version of their big store which is located further away from us.

Today I went to a couple of stores I haven’t been to yet. First up was Asia Mart (photo above), they had pretty much everything you need to make a meal, they also had snacks, beverages, and various other items, all reasonably priced. Most of their customers are Asian, and it seems the staff speaks very little, or no English. That would make it difficult if I needed to ask a question, but I usually don’t so it didn’t effect my shopping experience.

The next place we went to was One World Market. Most, if not everything they sell seems to be Japanese (which is fine by me). I was pretty impressed with their selection of items, they seemed to have everything, even though they are a small store. Fresh foods, frozen foods, dry foods, snacks, beverages, ice cream, dinnerware, cookware, beauty products, etc. They even had Japanese magazines (Manga, Idols, etc) and DVDs. They also have a diner area, they have a small menu of authentic Japanese food that they make.

They seem to sell things that I haven’t seen at the other stores; the magazines I mentioned, egg pans for making tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), Sake, Pocari Sweat, Boss Coffee, and even certain snacks…Like my favorite; Coffeebeat (have only ever found this online til now)., everything was also reasonably priced. It seems like they keep an eye on expiration dates (unlike other International grocery stores I’ve been to), the outdated products are on a discount rack (and they were barely outdated). Fresh foods that are about to expire are also discounted.

Cici Jelly Drink

If you spot these at your local Asian grocery store don’t be afraid to give them a try, it’s just a flavored drink with bits of jello in it. They’re one of my favorite drinks, and they are fairly inexpensive, I’ve seen them cost between .89-$1. There are quiet a few flavors to choose from, the 6 pictured above I found in a pre-packaged variety pack (I usually only see them sold individually) and it cost only $5. For some reason this 6 pack is the only way I’ve ever seen the Strawberry flavored one.

Bored

My life is at a stand still. Nothing much happening in Geeksville for me. Been playing some WoW, working on Rep with various factions for both my main horde and alliance toons. Watching Doctor Who, Torchwood and whatever else I feel up to on Netflix. Yeah. That’s about it. Haven’t really been getting out, I think I am going stir crazy. Didn’t even get to go see “Thor”, even though we all wanted to see it. We also want to go see the new Pirates movie when it comes out. So I am looking forward to going out to a movie, it’s been awhile.

Stopped at Saraga recently and picked up some treats…

I loved all the stuff, but I think my favorite this time was the pocky that had a chocolate biscuit dipped in white chocolate, so good!

GenCon is coming up, and I’m still bummed that I missed it last year when they had most of “The Guild” cast, Wil Wheaton, Curt Shilling and R.A. Salvatore there. No clue who will be there this year, if anyone, because usually they have some pretty lame guests. I won’t be going this year either, as far as I’m concerned this is one of those things that is not important. Sure it’s fun, but when you are broke it’s pretty darn expensive and we need to put our money on other things.

OK, time to go watch something on Netflix, then get bored with that and go play WoW for a bit, then get bored with that and read some of my Dresden Files book. I know, my life is so exciting, try not to be too jealous.

Otaku Birthday

My daughter’s b’day was on April 24th and I kept with my theme of badly decorating a cake…

Her birthday happened to fall on Zombie Jesus Day, most people call it Easter, a day for us that is all about bunnies and candy! That’s a bunny on the cake (it’s on the moon), we also thought the bunny theme fit nicely because it also happens to be the Year of the Rabbit. The bottom of the cake has Amandas name in Katakana.

The day was filled with candy, cake, and a ham dinner, we also watched Tron in 3D. Let’s not forget about the gift…

Transformers – Beast Wars: Complete Series

On June 6th Shout! Factory will release Transformers – Beast Wars: Complete Series on DVD. They will also be releasing the seasons separately soon after. If I didn’t already have the seasons from when they were originally released then I would want this, but as it is I don’t need it.

I wonder if they will eventually release Shadow Raiders: War Planets. I also have all of that on DVD, but would be cool if it was released once again for those who missed out on it before. War Planets is one of my favorites, wish it could have lasted longer.
